Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the maintenance and preventative maintenance of all facilities and equipment owned and operated by Fincantieri Marinette Marine. This position is also responsible for the management of budget and employees within the Maintenance Department. He/she will work with all departments and levels of employees to ensure responsibilities and tasks are completed in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for facility maintenance
  • Establish schedules and methods for providing facility maintenance services; identify needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
  • Participate in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies, and procedures
  • Participate in the implementation of approved policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in the preparation and administration of the facility maintenance budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor budget expenditures; prepare cost estimates; submit justifications for equipment.
  • Monitor and control supplies and equipment; order supplies and tools as necessary; prepare specifications for contracted services
  • Develop Job Safety Analysis' and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Develop and organize preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities and equipment.
  • Coordinate with contractors in providing contract services
  • Perform related duties as required
  • Manage and maintain all documentation to meet with ISO requirements
  • Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.
