Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Master Scheduler to be based out of De Pere, WI. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for scheduling raw material, primary and secondary operations to ensure the plant's safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity goals are met.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field, or extensive manufacturing scheduling experience as an equivalency and a minimum five years of manufacturing experience in similar role.

What you'll do:

  • Develop, plan, and execute the master production schedule based on actual and forecasted customer demand working in concert with the materials planner.
  • Escalate inventory related topics to appropriate plant leadership.
  • Coordinate resources with production/operations team to determine staffing/overtime needs.
  • Participate actively in the SIOP process including but not limited to rough cut capacity planning.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient workflow between sales, production and warehouse.
  • Analyze lead times with operations and supply chain to ensure schedule accuracy.
  • Partner with the Project Management and Development teams to ensure all relevant launch and development work is scheduled, and necessary adjustments are made, to maximize efficiency and schedule adherence.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's in business, engineering, or related field preferred, or extensive manufacturing scheduling experience as an equivalency
  • 5+ years' relevant working experience
  • Proven knowledge of ERP Systems (transitioning from SAP to JD Edwards)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal

Within 3 months, you'll:

  • Complete your Atkore Immersion Program.
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
  • Complete a plan for process improvements with information gained in first 90 days.

Within 6 months, you'll:

  • Analyze the production plan to ensure it is accurate for the current business climate.
  • Improve operational efficiencies to reduce backlog by 10%.
  • Gain a full understanding of product lines, schedules, customer contract requirements, material requirements, forecast, supplier material coverage, internal factory and external supplier capacity and build plans, supplier delivery schedules, any/all production issues, to ensure a continuous flow of material to meet customer expectations.

Within 12 months, you'll:

  • Outline a long-term plan for worldclass operational planning.
  • Populate/participate in facility Lean Transformation Planning related to scheduling improvements.
  • Fully document new processes and train back-up resources.
