ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Production Supervisor you will provide leadership to a manufacturing team, and facilitate production processes to ensure the achievement of manufacturing, quality, housekeeping and safety objectives. As a leader, you will develop high performance work teams with ongoing coaching and direction, both formal and informal.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Develop an effective and efficient operations plan for the completion of products for which he/she has accountability utilizing support areas as needed.
Assist in the selection of, and to perform the function of training, evaluating, motivating, and guiding subordinates to achieve short-and long-range goals of the company
Assist in the planning of budgets, labor forecasts and capital expenditures for the purpose of short-and long-range production planning for manufacturing operations.
Manage and operate this area in such a manner as to meet scheduled delivery dates using a minimum amount of work-in-process time.
Ensure that proper safety practices are followed, monitored and enforced.
Keep current with the latest human resource changes and practices, particularly as this relates to hiring and training of new team members.
Maintain a positive atmosphere for customers and assure their needs are met within his/her area.
Assure an understanding of expectations for all internal and external customers and assure all products made meet these expectations.
Maintain an atmosphere of continual improvement of productivity, quality, safety, and good housekeeping practices are incorporated into all operations.
Establish effective communications and consistent work methods between all shifts and support areas.
Continue personal growth through classes and/or seminars of interest.
Assure that all machinery, tools and tooling within the area of control are properly maintained and repaired.
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of ISO-9001 standards into manufacturing.
WHAT YOU NEED
1 plus year(s) experience managing in a manufacturing and/or production environment
WHAT SETS YOU APART
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or related field
Lean/Six Sigma or Project Management certifications
Experience with Microsoft programs & JD Edwards
