Job/Internship Description
The Internship will begin in May 2022 and end in August 2022. This internship is designed for a student studying for a career as a Safety Professional. The Safety Intern will assist the Safety Department with a variety of projects including:
Corrective Actions driven by our independent safety audit
Training associates on a variety of powered industrial vehicles
Auditing Safety Data Sheets
Assisting with New Associate Orientation, Supervisor Safety Meetings, and other training and auditing activities
In addition, the Safety Intern will gain exposure across all aspects of the Safety function, both within Operations and Corporate Safety.
Expected Areas of Competence (KSAs)
Developing knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety concepts including
Established safety principles.
Appropriate laws and regulations.
Effective engineering control techniques.
OSHA guidelines.
Compliance inspections.
Applicable ISO standards.
Occupational report preparation
Lean/Six Sigma practices related to environmental health and safety in industrial manufacturing
Education and Experience Requirements
Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering Technology, Environmental Health & Safety or related field
Experience in Safety and/or training in an industrial setting is a plus
