PDS Tech Commercial, Inc. is recruiting for an Electro-Mechanical Service Technician in Appleton, WI.
Pay: $29.53 per hour
Contract Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
Shift: Monday - Friday, Day shift. 100% onsite in Appleton, WI.
Overtime: May require an excess of 40 hours per week.
*Must be willing to travel globally with 1 week long visits. 50% travel. 2-3 consecutive international trips*

This position is primarily responsible for field installation and maintenance of company equipment for new and existing customers. The job involves representing the company to the customer and assuring customer satisfaction through proper equipment set-up, operator and maintenance training, and ongoing service calls. Will also be called upon to perform in-house check-out of finished machinery before shipping, final inspection of machinery, and sales support when technical representation is required. The geographic area of responsibility is worldwide.
Job Duties:
* Responsible for supervising equipment installation and start-up in customer plants. Develops and implements a customer training program sufficient to assure continued production and customer satisfaction after the field technician leaves the customer site. Will be called upon to make routine service trips to customer facilities at the request of a supervisor. Keeps detailed notes from service trips and distributes trip reports to appropriate people.
* Travels to customer facilities globally, to troubleshoot equipment problems. Utilizes analytical skills to determine causes of failures and malfunctions. Recommends and implements corrective actions.
* When not traveling, provides technical phone support to customers during companybusiness hours. Documents customer phone activity in the companyERP system. Follows up with customers to verify the resolution of problems. Provides 24-hour technical assistance to customers, through an after-hours support function.
* Performs check-out of equipment before shipping to verify that machinery will run product to customers' specifications.
* Assists with R&D and other special projects as required. Provides technical advice and assistance to other departments.
Required Qualifications:
* An Associate's Degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or equivalent experience or training in engineering, sales, or technical service.
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in the Electro-Mechanical field.
* An extensive working knowledge of electrical systems and electrical troubleshooting experience. A sound mechanical aptitude.
* Ability to apply electrical and mechanical knowledge to sufficiently understand, explain, and modify the total functions, limitations, or adaptations of equipment.
* Familiarity with a 24-hour-per-day manufacturing process, preferably in the plastics or paper industry.
