Salm Partners is a contract manufacturer of fully cooked, premium sausage and hot dog products.  The company was founded in 2004 by four brothers, Joe, Pete, Chris and Mark Salm.  They pooled their individual talents together to create our organization, using the “partnership” concept as the cornerstone for success. 

The Salm brothers had the foresight to invest in innovative manufacturing technology that set it apart in the meat industry. This technology is based on two processes: co-extrusion, and cook-in-package.  The end result is sausage that is superior in taste and quality, and superior from a food safety standpoint as well.  The products Salm produces have changed the marketplace for the better.  The company continues to seek out new technologies in the food industry that have the same market-changing potential.

We broke ground at the 570 Woodrow Street location here in Denmark in July of 2004, building the facility from the ground up.  Their first dinner sausage product hit the production line in March 2005, and they have been going – and growing – ever since.

The company’s growth has come in stages, with the acquisition of the adjacent building at 590 Woodrow Street (formerly Milprint) in late 2006 and the subsequent installation of new production lines in 2007 and 2010.  We currently run 3 lines of production around-the-clock and have extended our capabilities to include onsite blending and formulation of product. 

Salm Partners has expanded to a current workforce of 275 full-time partners, and we employ up to an additional 200 temporary workers on a daily basis during our peak production season.  Our most recent expansion project in late 2012 resulted in the addition of over 50 full-time positions, with efforts currently underway to hire additional support positions and production partners on all shifts.
