Electro-Mechanical Technician (3rd Shift)

Position Overview

This position requires a self-motivated individual willing to work safely in a team based system. They need to have the ability to schedule their work, prioritize their work load, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Good troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis skills are required to make proper repairs. Preventive and predictive skills are required to keep equipment running safe and efficient. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. A desire for continuous improvement of technical skills and quality workmanship are required to meet our customers increasing demands.

The regular third shift schedule is Sunday night through Thursday night. Candidates must be able to work on alternating shift if needed. Training may take place on an alternate shift. Overtime, including weekends, will be required.

Responsibilities

The qualified candidate is preferred but not required to have knowledge in the following areas:

    AC/DC wiring methods
  • AC/DC drives/motors
  • PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, B&R, Beckhoff)
  • Touchscreens
  • Mechanical systems (bearing, alignment, chains, belts)
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Design and fabricating
  • Preventive & predictive maintenance on production machinery
  • Mill and Lathe experience is a plus

The following lists the job tasks and responsibilities that the Maintenance Technician will be performing:

  • Works safely and follows all related policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
  • Reading blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work requirements
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, and conveyors according to layout plans using hand and power tools
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks and forklifts, to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Other job tasks and projects as assigned
Qualifications

All candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Job-related experience is preferred. We will consider a candidate if they have a basic knowledge of the concepts of electrical, mechanical or a combination of both, through formal education or hobbies.

Division Description

The De Pere Shipping Container Division, is one of twenty five (25) corrugated box plants within the company. The modern, fully equipped corrugated manufacturing facility allow us to create and produce a wide range of innovative corrugated products - everything from ordinary brown boxes to intricate die cut inner pack to high graphic packaging.
