Green Bay Packaging, Inc. (GBP) is seeking a Purchasing & Materials Management Intern to assist with mill procurement and storeroom operations starting in December 2023. This arrangement would be great for a student looking to work part-time during the school year. This individual will work closely with the senior buyer and storeroom analyst during the course of the internship.
* Assist in implementation of new Enterprise Management System
* Assist in data analytics for supply chain decisions
* Assist in implementation of new warehouse facility
* Track and develop EOQ, VMI systems
* Maintain appropriate inventory levels and develop ordering strategies through placement of product orders
* Resolve internal customer and supplier disputes
* Reconcile receiving and invoice discrepancies
* Build strong vendor relationships through effective communication
* Assist with physical inventory
* Manage purchase order acknowledgements
* Create and implement SOP's and training documents
* Participate in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations and Purchasing meetings
* Participate/lead meetings with vendors and internal stakeholders
* Assist with other purchasing initiatives as required
* Student working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient in MS Office Suite of products, especially Excel and Word
* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working independently and efficiently
The Green Bay Mill Division is a vertically integrated paper mill that manufactures containerboard using 100% recycled furnish. The operation consists of one paper machine responsible for the production of linerboard and medium paper used to manufacture corrugated boxes. This family-owned mill is located near the mouth of the Fox River in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
