Job Summary

Gain valuable experience from our Purchasing, Product File, and Returns Teams. These teams focus on offering industry leading customer service to both internal and external customers. Through a combined effort, this intern will coordinate purchasing, managing product data, and returning product. Intern will focus on continuous improvement opportunities, across all branches, related to all aspects of each of these departments

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between the customer and the vendor regarding purchasing issues.
  • Investigate and resolve problems with overstocking and cost issues.
  • Enter purchase orders, product updates, and returns in Eclipse.
  • Schedule customer pick up of returning material.
  • Work with warehouse to resolve over/under ships and RGA issues.
  • Copy data and compile records and reports.
  • Tabulate and post data in spreadsheets.
  • Monitor non-moving stock, fast moving stock, and coordinate necessary updates.
  • Monitor stock and non-stock cycle times to ensure the customer and Werner Electric Supply are getting credited in a timely manner.
  • Review inventory demand, history, and cycle.
  • Reach out to vendors and update vendor return policies in Eclipse.
  • Build customer relationships to better the company's interests.
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous Purchasing or supply chain experience a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of operations and supply chain desired.
  • Excellent communication skills required. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations calmly.
