Due to an upcoming retirement, we are seeking a Chief Financial Officer for the corporation with financial oversight for multiple, distinctly different divisions.

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is the principal financial officer of the company. The CFO ensures the financial viability and strength of the organization and that its financial strategy is in alignment with the company vision, mission, values, and objectives. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the organization's accounting and financial operations. Additionally, the CFO will serve as a business partner and advisor to the President and participate as a key member of the Leadership Team. The CFO will play a key role in building and nurturing a collaborative team environment and providing financial leadership and transparency to strengthen the performance of all key leaders, managers, and departments.

This position will office full-time (Monday - Friday) from our Corporate headquarters in Appleton, WI. Relocation assistance will be considered for qualified candidates.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In terms of the performance and personal competencies required for the position, we would highlight the following:

Setting Strategy

  • Leverage strong business acumen and data to provide counsel on the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives and future-looking forecasts across all business units.
  • Lead data driven decision making, pulling insights from a variety of sources to support decisions and to align others with the organization's overall strategy.
  • Instill confidence through leadership of the organization in crisis management situations with composure and resilience in times of pressure and uncertainty.
  • Oversee capital & risk management, treasury and balance sheet management.
  • Act as a strategic and analytical thought partner to the CEO and leadership team to achieve key financial goals

Executing for Results:

  • Help identify, evaluate, test, track, and report on progress against key strategic KPIs and metrics to enable growth. Push analytical rigor in thinking and decision making throughout the organization.
  • Lead the development and use of best-practice policies, practices, and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project management, cross team communications and workflow. Leverages the latest technology (cloud-enabled ERP systems, bots, RPA's etc.) to drive efficiency and automation.
  • Establish and monitor financial reporting and communication of results, including selecting appropriate financial measures and goals and provide leadership guidance needed to ensure goal attainment
  • Direct and monitor audit activities including internal and external audits, annual risk review and planning activities, and leading the Audit Committee
  • Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing compliance, and taking appropriate action

Leading Teams:

  • Build strong relationships with the senior leadership team, the CEO and the BOD in order to influence, constructively challenge and improve decision making to protect the future health of the organization.
  • Retain and hire a world class Finance leadership team and drive a culture of results and financial acumen across the organization.
  • Motivate, develop, and lead a high-performing team; attract, recruit and retain key talent; provide mentoring, development opportunities, and succession planning as a cornerstone to career development.

Relationships and Influence:

  • Oversee all financial functions including accounting, finance, cash management, credit & collections, data transformation, business insurance, tax, banking, treasury and internal control frameworks. Serves as the primary liaison and establishes strong relationships with the banking group. Acts as the designer and negotiator of the banking facility.
  • Manage and advise on alternative investments, PE firms, fund structures, investment structures, and processes to ensure effective control. The current environment requires specialized accounting expertise and the ability to understand, advise and support the business.

  • Proactively engages in business transformation to establish clear financial baselines, identify which initiatives create value, and establish strong financial controls (i.e., acquisitions, divestures, or other business structural changes).

  • Support corporate efforts for safety, government compliance, and all other company policies & procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Experience:

  • CPA required, and MBA preferred
  • 15 years broad accounting and managerial experience in accounting, finance, data analytics & data transformation for multibillion-dollar company with multiple divisions throughout North America
  • Experience in overseeing the capital allocation process of the company in a way most beneficial to the shareholders including portfolio optimization
  • Experience in overseeing the capital structure of the company, including the internal and external factors of establishing the proper capital structure
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions
  • High level financial experience
  • Greenfield and start up experience
  • Digital transformation vision and implementation of advanced modeling tools and data security
  • Real world operational experience, including interactions with customers and vendors
  • Financial and accounting experience in a large complex organization
