About The Opportunity

Position Summary

The Electrical Pre-Press (EPP) Intern will complete various job tasks in various Graphics Design programs (MAC & PC platforms) that will enrich the intern's academic experience while achieving relevant work experience. The EPP Intern will preflight documents according to printing standards and make necessary adjustments to all types of files to ready them for print and digital reproduction. This position is from August 2024 - December 2024.

Essential to this Position:

  • Demonstrates commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrates commitment to quality and performs job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines.

  • Create and manipulate graphics files with the Macintosh platforms utilizing Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design and Acrobat PDF files.

  • Learn new equipment and procedures quickly and easily pass on this knowledge to others.

  • Utilize imposition, color separation and trapping skills.

  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.

  • Actively participates in Lean manufacturing initiatives.

  • Should be aware of their responsibilities and their accountability is clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Other Requirements (education, experience, skills/knowledge)

  • Experience with the Macintosh platform utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite of Software. ie: Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.

  • Offset and/or Flexographic printing knowledge.

  • Demonstrated ability to color separate and step and repeat electronic art.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to work both independently or in a team setting in a fast paced, high-volume environment.

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written

  • Must be able to function in highly technical environment in fast-paced high stress and tight deadlines.

  • Knowledge of a high-end graphic system is considered an asset
