POSITION SUMMARYThe Youth Apprenticeship role at U.S. Venture is a 1 or 2-year program that gives juniors and seniors in high school the chance to explore a career area of interest. Students spend part of their school day earning credit while they gain industry experience under the guidance of mentor. Every effort is made to design a Youth Apprentice assignment that matches the student's interests, provides meaningful work and a valuable learning experience, as well as to align to the associated State's Youth Apprentice guidelines for skills the student will need to acquire. Youth Apprentices may be assigned to one area or rotated through several divisions/departments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Overview: We are seeking an initiative-taking and meticulous individual to join our team as a Youth Apprentice Data Analyst on our Data Management & Governance Team. The ideal candidate should have an analytical mindset, a curiosity to solve problems, and a passion for working with data. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to kick-start a career in data analysis and gain valuable experience in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

Data Collection and Processing:

  • Collect, clean, and validate data from various sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of data collection systems and other strategies to optimize efficiency.

Data Analysis:

  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Utilize statistical methods to analyze data and generate meaningful reports.

Data Visualization:

  • Create visually appealing and easy-to-understand charts, graphs, and dashboards to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Reporting:

  • Generate regular reports and ad-hoc analyses to support decision-making processes within the organization.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop actionable recommendations based on data insights.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct data quality checks to ensure the integrity and accuracy of datasets.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to identify and rectify data discrepancies or issues.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analysis.
  • Actively seek opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Student in Junior or Senior standing in high school
  • Completion of a computer science related class strongly preferred along with technical aptitude
  • Able to begin a Youth Apprenticeship in September 2024
  • Ability to work on-site in downtown Appleton, at least 10 hours per week during normal business hours
