About The Opportunity

This position is responsible for the following duties, including but not limited to: providing support and assisting Lead Persons with running the shop floor on a day-to-day basis. The Line Lead will be expected to oversee production lines by providing direction to all employees in the most effective and efficient manner. The Line Lead is a key backup and resource for the Lead Persons.

Essential Job Duties:

1.Safety - Achieve plant safety goals through:

-Continuous assessment of MPC line leads/line safety

-Look for unsafe behaviors and unsafe conditions and enforce safety policies

-Coach MPC line lead

-Identify areas of concern/opportunity and coach

-Recognize/reinforce positive behaviors

-Provide daily feedback on positive/negative findings

-On shift safety snag facilitation/incident reporting

- Becomean active member of the ERT

- Assist in plant audits

2.Quality - Achieve quality goals that meet or exceed customer requirements through:

-Oversight of all programs' quality

-Work with auditors/line leads to ensure compliance to SPEC

-Startup of program and shift

-During production

-Coach line leads

-Give feedback on the Quality Escalation program and assist in root cause analysis

-Assist in plant audits

-Ensure all associates are properly trained to perform work that meets quality requirements

3. Production - Achieve plant production goals through:

-Continuous assessment of line efficiencies

-Escalation/acceleration process

-Bottlenecks

-Ensure every line is utilizing white boards including sub assembly

-Thorough knowledge of the production process and being able to read and understand information related to production orders

- Coach line leads on areas of opportunity (lean/waste)

- Oversee line set ups and utilize floor resources

-Recognize/reinforce positive behaviors

-Continuous calibration to schedule (on track/not on track)

-Ensure all employees are trained to use equipment

4.Communication - Ensure effective communication exists throughout the plant by:

Beginning of shift

-Review previous shifts' performance in regard to Safety, Quality, Productivity (SQP)

-Asses all issues and plan (RCSA)

During Shift

-Continuous communication with line leads (SQP)

-Escalation of any issue as needed (SQP)

-Drive accountability (SQP)

MPC Line lead

Temporary Line lead

Temporary Staff

End of Shift

-Progress: SQP, line, Accl, job set ups

-Start up/shut down communication

5.Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner

2. Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business

3.Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed

4.Ability to effectively work in teams

5.Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people

6.Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles

7.Read a tape measure/ruler

8.Good mathematical skills

9.Good organizational skills

10.Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job

11. Leadership abilities

12.Trouble shooting skills

13.Ability to pass a forklift driving test

14.Ability to read and count

Work Hours: 4 - 10 hour days Monday - Thursday, 8 pm - 6 am

Pay Rate: $24.70 per hour plus $.75 shift differential
