Job Description

Join our winning team as a Project Engineerin Niagara Falls, NY. In your role as a Project Engineer, you would be responsible for the development, installation, and completion of capital projects within cost, schedule, and performance objectives. The Project Engineer will manage capital projects up to $10MM. They will include replacing equipment in existing chemical manufacturing facilities as well as new or expanded manufacturing facilities.

Project Engineer Essential Job Functions:
  • Develop Capital Projects regarding justification, scope, schedule, and cost estimate to prepare documents to obtain funding approval.
  • Prepare detailed scope of project in conjunction with process engineering, maintenance, safety, environmental and manufacturing departments.
  • Work with procurement resources to develop requests for proposals, evaluate bids and select vendors, fabricators and contractors that provide best value.
  • Provide input to construction, fabrication and installation labor contracts, through Purchasing, to ensure project objectives are identified and met.
  • Responsible for achieving project objectives for safety, environment, site security, project scope, quality of installed equipment, project cost, project schedule and communications.
  • Manage the various project support resources to assure a coordinated and efficient use of design, engineering, and construction manpower.
  • Support the field construction efforts through interpretation of plans, specifications and schedules and work with assigned construction personnel to ensure a safe, timely, cost effective and quality project.
  • Assure the technical correctness of the project by coordinating the review of all drawings, specifications and equipment inquiries.
  • Support Plant Operational and Maintenance goals, including Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training activities, follow established safety procedures and practices, and emphasize importance of contractor safety.
Project Engineer Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering; Chemical Engineering discipline preferred
  • 3+ years project / manufacturing experience; chemical, petrochemical, or related manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of and experience with manufacturing equipment, i.e. tanks, pumps, piping, heat exchangers, valving, instrumentation, HVAC, industrial refrigeration, etc.
  • Able to guide/coordinate activities of project team members and other resources from different departments to achieve project objectives both independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of applicable industrial standards, i.e. ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM; knowledge and ability to read and interpret Piping & Instrumentation diagrams, equipment drawings, pipe codes and industrial specifications.
  • Knowledge of SAP and computerized project management systems preferred.
  • Occasional travel may be required (<10%); must possess a valid US driver's license

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $100,000 - $145,000. This salary is only an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
