Terms of Employment: 12-month, annual, fixed-term renewable

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a consistent point of contact for designated enrolled students as they navigate their first year at UWO.
  • Facilitate intentional and proactive outreach, provide resources, answer questions, and support peer mentors to reach students in their adjustment to their first year of college.
  • Continue to build strong rapport with student mentors and train and hire peer mentor team.
  • Develop plan to provide student mentors with an assigned caseload of enrolled students.
  • Guide peer mentors in the outreach to students in their first year and beyond at UWO.
  • Notice warning signs leading to withdrawing from the university indicated in the new student survey and quick polls. Provide support and resources to help retain students at the university.
  • Facilitate follow-up communication for students flagged for concerns in data collection and the early alert system.
  • Teach mentors how to accurately document, track and report on all contact and communication with enrolled students in Navigate.
  • Maintain high knowledge about processes, programs, and services on all three campuses important to the successful retention of students throughout enrollment and first year at UWO.
  • Work collaboratively across the UW Oshkosh community to support a successful first year at UWO for students.
    Assist with Titan Takeoff Day of event and communication processes.
  • Assist with Welcome Week programing for all incoming students.
  • Open office at least twice a week at 7:45 am to assure student leaders are ready for their shift
  • Leverage Salesforce's communication tools, such as email campaigns and personalized messaging, to engage with prospective students
  • Work with International Orientation on the Oshkosh campus
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Proven skills in meeting deadlines and reaching individual and organizational goals.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding in utilization of student information or other database management systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal, active listening, and organizational skills with interactions over the phone, in-person and virtual.
  • Ability to successfully work both in teams and individually.
  • Experience in training and development.
  • At least two (2) years of experience supervising.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting to inform decision-making and program improvements.
  • Ability to utilize Navigate or student interface system to analyze data to identify trends, measure the effectiveness of interventions, and make data-informed decisions.
  • Ability to develop and implement campaigns within Navigate or another student interface system.

Preferred:
  • Master's degree
  • Professional experience working in higher education, academic advising or student support services, admissions and recruitment, or enrollment management.
  • Experience in an educational setting including K-12.
  • Experience using a customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Experience in training and development with peer leaders or student mentors
  • Experience supervising a team of student leaders and providing 1:1 and group support.
  • Experience utilizing Navigate or student interface system.
